Grandson Cameron's birthday, and saw our son on TV!

It's so hot in the afternoon, but the morning is comfortable enough. It's funny how 30C doesn't feel so bad when you know it's going to 40C!

So we set off walking at 9:30am to see some of the sights in and around the town of Concá.

There is a string of UNESCO listed churches in the valley running between Jalpa de Serra and Arroyo Seco.

Me, and the Concá sign.

The church was completed in 1758.

The facade.

Interior is quite plain.

There are a lot of massive old trees in the area!

Very cool.

Big old tree.

And, we haven't seen the biggest one yet. In fact, we are walking over to see it this morning.

There are two small waterfalls in the area. The first one wasn't even worth taking a photo of, but the second one was quite pretty...

Old suspension bridge.

Hm. I think I'll pass.

Safe? Or not safe?

There are a lot of lizards around.

Looking back at the church.

They have lots of underground water in the area, so they can grow beautiful corn even during dry season.

Another big old tree.

Pretty waterfall.

It must really come down during rainy season.

Someone made a pretty little garden beside the river.

The Rio Santa Maria.

Sandy shoreline.

Back at the campground, we had some lunch and then hopped in the pool.

Later in the day, I watched the Blue Jays baseball game. One of the things that I have always missed since we started this alternative lifestyle in 2007 is watching the Blue Jays. Our son Alex is also big fan, and he has season tickets. He often doesn't go to the games because he lives two hours away, but he sells the tickets that he doesn't use online. Anyhow, he was going to be at yesterday's game (and today's as well).

Watching the Blue Jays.

There's our son Alex, and his friend Chris!
Alex, with the blue cap and white t-shirt.

We love our Starlink internet! It's been a real game changer (pun intended...lol) for us to be able to have unlimited high speed internet wherever we happen to be. And then using our sons mlb.tv subscription, we can watch the Jays! Fantastic!

As such, we are also able to have unlimited video calling. And it was our grandson Cameron's 14th birthday. Long time readers will remember when Cameron was born! How was that 14 years ago??

Video call with grandson Cameron.

Gotta go get some exercise before it gets too hot!

No, the grandchildren certainly don't stay small for long. Two more years and Cameron will be able to drive!
