Three more days...

Despite how beautiful this place is, we've decided to move on. However, we are going to what is supposed to be another beautiful place!

We've got a two hour drive up to the town of Tamasopo, so we are hitting the road early to take advantage of the cooler morning conditions... they are calling for 43C again this afternoon.

This current heat wave is forecast to break on Saturday night. So we've got three more days of oppressive 40C+ (104F+) temperatures. Then on Sunday, it's supposed to be a pleasant 25C (75F)! Can't wait.

We went for another morning walk to see some more of the sights in this area.

El Arbol Milenario.
The Millennium Tree.

This Montezuma cypress is said to be over 1,000 years old. It has a trunk diameter of 72 feet. It sits beside the location where a natural spring comes out of the ground.

It is fenced off so that you can't get a photo of what a person looks like for perspective.

It doesn't look like the water is flowing.

But it actually is.

It's a pretty spot.

They actually allow you to swim.

An interesting local house.

Since we have decided to move on, we wanted to eat at the restaurant on the property where we've been staying. So we went and had lunch there.

We each had a big refreshing glass of ice cold tamarido.

I had the mixed plate.

Ruth had a migada. This was new for us... something like an oversized sope!

The rest of the afternoon was spent in and out of the pool

Watching the Blue Jays game poolside.

Gotta get going... things are starting to warm up already!

  1. Being warm is good but being in an oven is not.
