And with even hotter temperatures in the forecast, we were looking for a spot where there was a swimming option. We definitely found exactly what we were looking for!
It was only a 45 minute drive northwest to the town of Concá, situated on the Santa Maria River. There, I had read of La Huerta Restaurant that also has a swimming pool and camping area.
It had really good reviews, but I didn't expect it to be this nice.
We pulled up, and spoke to a friendly lady sitting outside the restaurant who said we were welcome to walk back and have a look around.
We found what looked like a fantastic spot in the shade under a big tree, and there was even an electrical outlet. Of course if we're going to park in the shade, our solar panels don't get any sunshine. So the electrical outlet would come in handy.
The asking price was 180 pesos per person, so 360 pesos ($25.30 CAD, $17.60 USD) per night for the two of us including the use of the electrical outlet, bathrooms, showers, and swimming pool.
Sold!
Igor, parked in the shade of the big tree.
The view out of our side door.
The landscaping around the pool is beautiful.
There's even a big palapa overlooking the garden where we can sit in the shade.
Yes, we will be spending lots of time here the next couple of days.
Me and my t-shirt tan were even in the water before Ruth!
Just the right temperature!
Ruth, enjoying the water.
And the best part? We're the only ones here! It's like this is our own private pool. And with the temperature forecast to hit 42C (108F) on Wednesday, there will be a lot of time spent in the pool!
Here's our route map since we left Guanajuato...
